Blog Promotion Tips 1

This is a new section on Softduit. Many people ask me how to promote their blogs and generate more traffic, more readers and more revenue.

As a starting point, let me state that I use and can recommend all of these services. I'm not going to clutter this section up with anything I don't use at least on a weekly basis and doesn't earn money. Many of these tools are used everyday!

Blog Surfing Sites

Update 2 - I updated this post on 7/31/06. Blogclicker my former favorite surfing tool appears to have closed its doors. I have no details why yet, but suspect that it has been replaced with wolfsurfer.

UPDATE 1- I have learned from Google that 2 of the sites below may conflict with Google Adsense Policies. If you do not have Adsense on your blog and what to promote the site and get more readers, I would recommend all of these sites.

If you do have Adsense, I can only recommend BlogExplosion at this time and I'm waiting clarification from Google on the rest (Blogsoldiers, blogmad and Wolfsurfer appear to be sites that allow some people to break the Google Policy and therefore Google seems to preven all traffic from these sites. I do not understand how this is lega from an anti-trust perspective but I will research the issue more.)

Rated #1 for Quality - Site does not sell Credits and would appear to comply with Google Adsense Program

Site may conflict with Google
Adsense Policy - Site allows some members to buy or sell credits - Service will promote your blog, but if you run adsense, it could conflict with the TOC.

BlogMad Surf and Earn Impressions

Site may conflict with Google Adsense Policy - Site allows some members to buy or sell credits - Service will promote your blog, but if you run adsense, it could conflict with the TOC.

Surf & Earn with BlogSoldiers!

Directory Site

BlogAnnounce Your Blog!

Cannot Recommend Site as may conflict with Google
Adsense Policy - Site allows some members to buy or sell credits - Awaiting Confirmation from Google Adsense Team

Above you have my top 4 surfing sites and in addition a blog directory. These services will bring you more traffic!

eBay to test advertising auctions on other sites|Reuters.com

eBay to test advertising auctions on other sitesReuters.com:

And Yet another way to increase the money you make from your Blog!

"In coming months, the program, dubbed eBay AdContext, will allow Web sites to embed simple snippets of code that can then automatically act to showcase items for sale on eBay's site, eBay officials said.

'We want to increase the number of times buyers come to particular sites,' Swaaij said of the affiliate marketing drive, one of scores of ways eBay is now encouraging Internet developers to build eBay functions into independent Web sites.

What goods appear in any particular advertisement will be determined by the keywords on that Web page, a technique known as contextual advertising. A sports Web site would feature links to sporting gear or memorabilia from eBay, for example.

As listings change on eBay, advertising automatically changes on affiliated Web sites to reflect the new products or services for sale on eBay. Web site affiliates receive a cut of 40 percent to 70 percent of sales, depending on volumes.

'It is a way for Web sites to get an additional monetization stream,' Swaaij said."
